I finished designing this class last week and I am so happy with the result!!!
If you like the look of this project please be sure to book in for the class....Sat the 30th Jan @ 2pm
This Calendar is held up by a (modified) CD case... It is the perfect size for holding the mounted Mark the Date stamp set (115836) And what a lovely present it makes... You could easily mass produce this for an in expensive Christmas present... You would get a total of 8 calendars out of a full set of DSP... Once the design is done it as easy as 1,2,3....
Come along and see just how easy it is.... (once all the card has been cut out for you... ;P) There are still some places available...
This Blog is a place for me to share creative ideas thoughts and ventures... whether they be my own or other inspirational people I know. I have been blessed and would like to bless others... Please enjoy.. Lots of Love Ursula

First Stamp n Stack Class
I am Loving the idea of these classes.. It is a wonderful way to make 8 cards... to mass produce the one you like to change it up and make 4 totally different ones...
[STAMP N STACK - this is where all the card stock is cut out EXACTLTY the same... and it is how you stamp and stack (layer) it that gives you the varied looks..]
Leonie is my inspiration for these because she does one each month.. She hires Angel Ave out and her classes are a great success!!!
I totally copied Leonie's design for these cards... They were lovely!!! And I thought they were good for a more masculine design... this one uses the Circle Circus (114375) stamp set to make all the background stamping... Then it used the Sincere Salutations stamp set (116416) & Life Definitions Stamp set (115928 ... which was almost half price in the Inventory Clearance Sale!!!)
Colour combo is... Card:- Ballet Blue, Chocolate Chip, Kraft... & a tiny bit of Confetti White.
Ink:-Ballet Blue, Chocolate Chip & Creamy Caramel.
Accessories:- Vintage Brads, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon
Then I came up with my own totally feminine design making them a One Page Wonder card design... It was a little more freelanced for my ladies.. they got to chose their own way to assemble and design their cards... by ripping and cutting the One (A4) Page of Stamped images.
PHOTO TO COME.....
I used Fifth Avenue Floral (115796), one stamp form Eastern Blooms (114275) and the small flower from Live Like You Mean It Hostess stamp set (115740 achieved when you have workshop orders totaling $300 RR product)
Colour combo is ... Card& Ink:- Old Olive, So Safron, Baja Breeze, Basic Grey and Regal Rose
Accessories:- 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon Kiwi Kiss, and So Saffron GG Ribbon.. (from special ribbon packs last year)
As some of my ladies were not able to come to the class in the morning I was able to take the class to them in the afternoon... If you would like to hold a class at your house please let me know.. Gather 4 or more friends and have a lovely social time making some beautiful things together.
Or see if there is another date available that suits you and 3 or more other friends and we can book it in at Angel Ave....
Next Stamp n stack class is Birthday Cards... Keep an eye out for it!!!

Creative Mediums that inspire me...
Last year I was nominated for an Australia Day Awards night...
Because of the nomination I was invited along with some guests to go to the dinner and awards night.. there must have been at least 200 people in attendance... It was a lovely night... The food was great the company grand and the decorations were very Australian... Lovely... There were 60 nominations in various categories....
I am very humbled and a little embarrassed to have been nominated.. but mostly grateful that I can do something to help out in some small way.. One never sets out to receive recognition for things you do... I heard this from almost all of the winners in each category of nominations on the night and it really does ring true for me!!! Most of what I do with the PaperANGELS, Community wise and with QPAC Choir is because I LOVE IT!!! Because it is an escape from the real world and lifts me up from the woes of life... It fills the well and allows me to be a better person so that I can give more of myself to my loved ones....
I was nominated for fundraising events with PaperANGELS for the Marter Mothers... and The Arty Farty Morning Tea Party.... The tour to Singapore with the Queensland Festival Chorus... and other things that I do at church or with the community relating to craft and sharing of the talents the Lord has blessed me with... Because of the influence and support of each one of the PaperANGELS Team I would not have been able to do half of the things I have over the last few years... I am grateful to all of them and mostly to Liz (who came with me on the night & didn't want photos of herself!!!)
And I am extremely grateful for my involvement with such a wonderful Choir... and a TOTALLY AMAZING Choir Conductor Alison Rogers... Music communicates when there is no words or when Language is a barrier... It touches the soul and enriches your life... It moves people in ways that words alone would never do... I believe that it is the language of the Angels!!! And I am ETERNALLY Grateful to have it in my life.. and to be exploring, learning and creating through this medium! What a blessing it has been to my family's life in 2009! I can only hope that it will continue to be such a huge part of our families life for years to come!!!
In recognition of our nomination all nominees received a framed certificate and had to do a walk on the stage.. which frightened the life out of me!!! Get me up there to sing or act.. no problem.. perhaps a few nerves... but it is not imposable.... but to stand and just be me... phew.. that is hard... especially when you feel that it's all a bit of a fuss... being recognised for the little something you were able to give back when so many wonderful people and organisations had given to you over the past few years... I was humbled and honored to be there.. And very grateful to have Liz there with me...
Back to School Class
So here are the lovely stationary sets that we did in this class.. This a a great idea for an inexpensive presant for childrens parties... It would even suit a grown up.... It would cost around about $5 to $6 for the (GOOD quality) note pad, sticky note pad, pencil and rubber... Then you can go to town with you scrap pieces of DSP, a few brads, some punch art and a little bit of ribbon... Quite inexpensive really... But looks lovely as a set..
And changing up the colours..... How lovely is this as an inexpensive present that uses your scraps up???

My Wall Hanging
This is the photos that I put into my wall hanging.. (Sale-a-Bration kit project) I had some photos printed up at home and because I wanted to take a photo of the finished project for the Sale-a-Bration Kit promo flier.. I had to finish it... Considering that it was pretty random... and I sifted through the photos many many times... well I was really touched when I came up with these three photos....
At Liz's I had pre-stamped (because I did not have any Sale-a-Bration sets YET!!!) the greetings and punched them out so that when I got home I could finish this project off... as I read the sayings I chose photos that I thought may go with the words....
The first one is - "Follow your Heart ~ it knows the way"...
I liked that I had both of my boys cuddled up and reading to me in this photo... My boys are very important to me...
The second one is - "Happiness Always"....
I LOVE the photo of my boys putting funny faces.. It ALWAYS Does make me happy....
And the Third one is - "The more candles the BIGGER the wish"
This photo was taken when Aaron was first in hospital almost 5 years ago now.. He was in there being diagnosed on his 30th birthday.... and instead of candles on his cake I got a HUGE syringe from the Nurses to stick in the cake... My girlfriend and I made his cake look like a BUM.... cause we needed to make light of the SERIOUSNESS of all that was happening at that time... It was soooooooo funny coming up with all the Bum puns for the situation... like 'it's a real pain in the Bum... that he's in hospital..'
When I got to this photo I realised how special this wall hanging is for me.... It really made me appreciate our boys (being that it is school holidays and they are home I needed the reminder of how SPECIAL they are.. heheh) That our boys make us laugh and we all enjoy one another's company... (for the most part) and also that the BIGGEST Wish we could all have is that Aaron eventually gets better....
Like Oprah would say... It was an "ARH Moment"
I hope you have those kind of moments too with your Scrapping....
Love Ursula

New Demoonstrators Creative Day with Liz
Last year one of the incentives offered to newly signed PaperANGELS demonstrators was a craft day in Liz Collett's studio... Our PaperANGELS Team leader... I was so lucky that I had called Liz the day before to organise a 'play date'... She mentioned that she was having this day and I was welcome to come along... So thanks to Leonie and her team for letting me crash the party... I was able to make these 5 LOVELY projects...
I have copied the pictures that Leonie took as hers were much better quality than mine... Thanks Leonie.. I hope that is ok????
We have made these first three projects into gift sets to give people an idea of what they might like to order for the Sale-a-Bration promotion.. Included in each of these gift sets is the instruction for each individual project... the prices start from $130.. Included in all these sets is ALL the items you will need to make these projects.... Let me know if you are interested and I can send you the special flier...
1. Scrappin Pack
2. Bag n Tag Kit
3. Photo Wall Hanging
These Three projects are just soooooooooooo beautiful! It seemed a waste to not do MORE with them....
This was a LOVELY card and we did the Scrap book page below with a matching card too...
It was such a lovely day and I was grateful to have spent it with good company... and very grateful for Liz's continual inspiration and encouragement!!

Happy NEW YEAR!!! - 2010
May you all have a wonderfulAnd may you be blessed with much joy and happiness... May this year bring many great opportunities too good to pass up.. and may you create many opportunities to grow and learn in every way possible!!! God bless and keep you safe...
(this is a photo of our family and a friend with sparklers on NYE.. you can achieve this by making your shutter on your camera stay open longer.. I think it is called ISO speed.. or if you are lucky enough to have a fireworks setting it will do it automatically for you.. Brilliant effect!!! and heaps of fun to do!!!)

Merry Christmas for 2009
So I know this is a bit late.. but seeing that I have been madly rehearsing for our tour to Singapore.. and then came home and had to get organised for Christmas and I was in isolation and blah blah blah... you get the picture.... I hope I can be forgiven in not being on time for this Christmas wish... I hope you all had a good Christmas and that the New Year Brings you and your family's much happiness and joy!!!
When I came home I was able to go to Liz's to have a day of crative fun.. and thanks to her daughters and their punch art skills I was able to mass produce some Christmas cards for our family... Liz had made these cute little Santa cards.. ( I finished it off with some grosgrain riding Hood Red ribbon across the bottom - I just neglected to take the photo after they were finished...)and the girls had made some Snowman and Reindeer punch art characters.. So I was able to CASE them... Thanks girls!!!

Singapore Queensland Festival Chorus Tour 2009
This year I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Singapore with some members from the QPAC choir and from AVAE and VM..
We had a brillinat time!!! We stayed for four short days and crammed so much into it! It was an AWESOME once in a life time experience.. that I am hoping I may be able to have again in June 2010... Depending on Audition success and finances of course.. because believe me the desire is sooo there!!!
It was a massive learning curve, for those of us who have not performed for a long time and even greater experience for those who have never performed. We had enormous growth in the areas of musicality and professionalism. Allison’s (Alison Rodgers - Conductor) courage and belief in us was undeniably generous and faith promoting! The piece that we performed was Gustav Holst – The Planets - Neptune. It was the hardest 5 pages of music I have EVER seen!!! And it scared the life out of me when we first got it. But with loads of practice especially in the car every day I was able to get it into my head. We Performed in the Esplanade Concert Hall.. $600 Million dollars worth of Sound engineered building genius, where the roof can be adjusted to suit the desired acoustics for each and every performance. The Esplanade is one of the World’s top 3 acoustically designed buildings and professional artists would do anything to perform there! There were over 300 orchestra members made up from The Western Australia Youth Orchestra and Singapore’s Orchestra of the Music Makers. The whole performance received a reasonably good review which if you like you can read here.. pianofortephilia.blogspot.com
Here are some photos to look at.. some of the highlights...

Some Recent Cards made
I made these cards before I left for the Queensland Festival Chorus tour to Singapore... To say thanks for all the hard work of those who made the whole WONDERFUL experience possible... The idea was that many people would have space sign.. I got some of the inspiration and ideas from 2009 Convention.. with the thump and bump Male card technique and the 12x12 card style...
The greatest thing about these cards is that you can take the ideas from your smaller cards you have made in the past and make them bigger.... then add more pages bound with ribbon or brads down the spine... most of these had room enough for 40 people write a personal message and sign them, as the were 6 x A5 double sided.... It looks really nice if you put some stamping on the inside pages too..
(This is actually the inside of another card I made for my dear friend Jenny Coggins who passed away tragically 6-12-09, leaving her 2 beautiful daughters... I was not able to go to the funeral.. because of our Singapore tour... but I was able to write letters to her Daughters, Mother, X Husband and make a card for all the women at church to sign if they wanted to... My little way of supporting and grieving with everyone else... RIP my Dear Dear friend.. Until we meet again!!! I know you will be working hard to help us all achieve our potential!!!)
Stampin on the inside also helps so that when you pull it apart, to have more than one person sign at a time... that they can all write on it the right way up and when it is time for you to reassemble it, it looks organised and uniformed ...Stamping a matching envelope adds that extra special touch as well...

Things from Liz
Liz made us these lovely little boxes with some chocolate bars wrapped in DSP for a Christmas gift.. It was lovely...
Then this one was a gift for the coordinators of the PaperANGELS Christmas Card workshops... It's a great idea for a gift to say thanks or a hosted booking award or intensive...
And these were the last meeting for 2009 PaperANGELS training projects... I love the fact that in PaperANGELS we are so hands on!!! We receive so much inspiration at our meetings.. It's what drives us all to be better and gives us the ways and mean to know how to... Creative people are visual.. you can talk to them and give them instructions till the cows come home.. some will be ok with that and succeed.. but those of us who struggle to read instructions.. (ME).. It just makes it all more solid if you have had first hand experience.. especially if you have the chance to make mistakes that your customers may make... You look way more polished and professional!!! Trick of the trade... Practice b4 you do!!!

QLD Stampin' UP! Regionals
We had Brisbane QLD Regional training in November.. It was yet again another great way to learn more Stampin' Up stuff... I love Training and conventions.. because it is a wonderful time to get together with other Crafty people and be inspired and taught!!!! Win Prizes and thank those who have made our Stampin' Up! time a AWESOME experience...We surprised Liz with a big arrangement of flowers to say thanks for all the PA activities meetings, fundraising and leadership for the year...
I arranged them for Liz the day before as we had a 8.30am start..... lucky I had a wedding that I was delivering into the city the day before cause it all tied in really nicely to drop Liz's' arrangement off so she had NO IDEA about it happening... hehehe.. Berry sneaky!!!
We all signed a card for Liz.. I made it with some wonderful inspiration from Leonie's little Angel punch art that won our last PaperANGELS Punch Art comp... thought it would be appropriate that it had 'Paper Angels' on the front of it.. Thanks Leonie!!!
The ladies either side of me won free stamp sets.. Yeah... one of them is not 'yet' a demonstrator.. they were both heaps of fun to sit with... I was loud.. trying to get QLDers to be excited.. jump and shout and interact with the whole event.. with ohhhs and arrhhhs and clapping... it took ages to warm up the crowd but I did not give up!!!! heeheh...

A whole bunch of thanks
In November I was asked to make up some little thank you's for some women who presented some things to us at a Church activity.... I thought I would make some paper flowers.. As it was for Church i did not use Stampin' Up papers... and it made it sooooooo much harder!!! cause this cheep paper was no were near as good!!! it ripped while you were wrapping it around the stick and it was not double sided...
But the flowers still looked good...
I didn't realise how long it would take me to make this whole bunch of flowers... Thank goodness i had some lovely ladies here for our monthly paper craft group that were happy to help with the last 5 or so!!! I was going cross eyed!!!
I put them on the skewers upside down so that the sharp end stuck out of the flower.. this makes it loads easier to stab the Ferrero Rochers to attach them as the center of the flower......
