Manly Scraps

I often hear that manly cards are hard to make.. Many get stumped.. Male cards are all about colour, texture, industrial embellishment, and simple.... In these cards I've pulled out my box of DSP scraps and used the Tailored Tag Punch (145667 A$31) and just placed the pieces on a card base... Adhered a ribbon at the top of them and stamped the sentiment.. SUPER simple...

See what other shapes you can use to create these super simple manly cards..

Have fun making it MANLY.. ;P

Clear Block and Ink Backgrounds

Your Clear Blocks can be used to put colour on so that you can come up with some awesome interesting backgrounds for your cards... here are just a few examples of using your blocks as a stamp to get and interesting look for your cards..

I put Tranquil Tide ink onto an F size block and then spritzed with water.. then I laid the Lemon Lime Twist Card mat onto the block allowing it to sit for a little while to soak up the water and the ink then I lifted it off and daubered around the edges to finish it off a little...

With this one hear my Mat was actually White Card stock and I put both Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist ink onto the block then spritzed with water... let it run a little and then put the card stock on top of the block to soak up the ink and water...  I have found this to be a really cool way to get different effects for a relaxed looking background...

For this Lovely card I used a D sized Clear Block  and stamped teh block into the light blue and then rolled the edges into a darker blue and then spritzed...

Once i lifted up the card I noticed that there was a little more ink/water combo on the darker colour.. so i just blew it with a straw to get the splotch look...

It's so much fun to experiment with colours and arty techniques.. I hope you have fun experimenting too!!

Nailed It Stamp Set and Build It Framelets

This is a great male stamp set... I made these cards ages ago. the set is now retired but I think it is one that I will not get rid of in a hurry.... Just casue you can create AWESOME cards for guys with it!!

I love the 3D Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folders..  the Hexagons (143241 - $16) is FANTASTIC for male cards too....

The Denim card background is created using a little acrylic white paint on a foam brush and lightly dragging across the card...

This cute Gift Card holder card is a great way to present a Gift Card.. and they are super easy to create.. out of one A4 sheet of card stock you can make 3 pouches.... AWESOME class to teach...

Manly Gifts and Cards are sometimes difficult.. but you can make them easily with the right techniques and fun stamp sets!!

Enjoy creating

Using Scraps - Stamp n Stack

I think maybe I have been a little obsessed with the Ombre look.. this card is a great card to make with the circle punch and emboss the layers with different embossing folders to give it a texture...  We punched heaps of circles and made two of these cards...

This is another one of my FAVORITES!!! I love it!!! if you get 4 Long strips of card stock and emboss and ink the embossing folders to use them as a stamp you can create such a great quilted look... by cutting the strips into four pieces and placing them down in a pattern...  It's a little fiddly but it is so worth the finished look!!!

KENG Community Card Classes 2013

The ladies love  our card classes.. they have a fantastic time...

With this first card I took along my draw or Scrap Designer Series Papers and the Big Shot Top Note die cut... The ladies chose the colours they liked and pasted them onto another card front... Then we ran it through the Big Shot to cut it out.. this can give you potentially 2 cards... One with the top note cut out and the other with the negative of the top note...  I love using scraps and inspiring others to do something creative  and different....

Off Cut Cards

1cm -2cm Strips on CardI love when you save bits for and pieces for ages and then you find a FANTASTIC idea to utilize them!!! This is a card that is a CLASSIC example of it!!!!

You know how when you cut your matting for your cards out of card stock you end up with little strips left over.. well I have been saving them for a while now.. I placed all the colours into a plastic sleeve.. Then I took it along to My Community Craft Group and gave the lady's free range to create a card of their own choosing... I had a sample of the basic design and they went from there... I am ALWAYS amazed by others creativity and colour choices etc.. I learn from them as much as they learn from me!!

.5cm - 2cm strips These ones were similar to the origional design...

Some of my ladies bring their own stuff to "GLITZ" up their projects.... And this is what 3 of them did with Glitter glue, Bling, and Paper doilies.. Just goes to show that you can step up any simple design and make it MORE....

I hope you enjoy creating with scraps too!!!

Stamp n Stack 4 Boys

No matter who you are Boys cards always seem to be the hardest...
I find when I am looking at a stamp set I try to see if it could be used for both male and female cards... If you swap the colours around and use part of the stamp you will be surprised with what you may come up with....

Dream Create Inspire Imagine Male Card

Lovely as a Tree... so easy to make this one into a male card....

Thanks for a Male Card

Although this one of these stamp sets are retired (Extreme Elements ... this is one I just can not get rid of... I LOVE IT!!!!) You can substitute your stamp set for another that may have some shapes etc in them like Circle Circus... the technique that is used in these cards is resist embossing.... Stamp all your coloured images first... then using VersaMark stamp on top of your images a really solid stamp.. (the splash from Extreem Elements) the clear emboss.... then taking your Brayer roll over several times with some dark ink... Rip the edges and you have a VERY VERY cool effect!!! Two toned paper..... its very MANLY!!! Gerr!!!

Male Birthday Card

A Ship is always a great older gentleman's card!!! How sophisticated does this one look???? And it is so simple... Stamp your greeting then Create some texture with an embossing folder... Wrap some ribbon around and stamp the image in StayzOn... dauber the edges and back with dark card stock.. It's so EASY!!!!

Ship Card for Males

Here4 are some other lovely cards that were created for a class... cant remember which one.. but they are nice too...
