Boxes FULL of Christmas

What a Fantastic Event.. How Awesome were the projects?

Everyone LOVED them!!!!

This was the TEASER I sent out to all my customers to get them interested in coming to the event...

I took some close up photos of some of the elements on each project and used my PhotoCollage App on my phone and wallah here is the teaser. Too easy...

And here is all the Projects we made on the day.... We played Christmas Carols all day...
And we raised money again for the Angel Baby Boxes....

This Three Times a Reindeer Card was inspired by Margaret Johnson photo I found on Pintrest... www.stamphaven.ca.

This project - Christmas Tea Time Box was a SMASH HIT.. Everyone loved it.. It is such a simple project and easy to mass produce... And it is so DANG cute!!!

I found the cute little spoons in the bargin shop they were $2.50 for a 20 pack... the Measurements in this project are in the instructions in the PDF attached to this blog... If you would like to reproduce... You could make these for gifts for teachers.. for birthdays or just for thank you's...

I found this fantastic idea and was inspired by Franz - www.franz-z-blog.blogspot.com.au ... I changed the measurements slightly...

This Wooden Block Christmas Perpetual Calendar  was another hit.. It was pretty easy to make although we did come up with a better way to cover the blocks.. Rather than trying to sand off the excess we learned that it is MUCH quicker to use a craft knife to cut off the excess and then to sand the edges...

My talented Hubbie made the blocks and the stands...
We were so grateful for this GORGEOUS project!!!

The little Mini Jingle Bells are so cute as holly Berries.. and the fine silver thread is just such a nice touch to embellish it a little more...  If you stick the embellishment onto a wooden peg you can change it to something else with ease.

Christmas EXPLOSION Box ... This was fun to make.. a little intricate but could you imagine your loved ones of friends opening it up to find all the wonderful pockets full of pictures and journaling...

Here's a close up of the BEAUTIFUL tag on the outside of the box made with our lovely new Cheerful Tag Framelets... 141838

This is the Box opened up.. It's pretty impressive when you take off the lid and it all folds out..

If you wanted to you could also take out the inserts and put them into a scrapbook album no problem...

Here is some photos of the individual inserts

And a close up of the Christmas tree...

I LOVE this Jolly Jumper Card.. How cute is he??
Punch Art is always my favorite things to do with paper craft.. .. and this little CUTIE is made from only 2 punches... (Cookie Cutter Builder 40396 and Jolly Hat Builder 141847) TOO EASY.. FANTASTIC for us AUSSIES!!!  A little Kangaroo!!!

Here is the instructions for how to make this little cutie!!!!

The original Punch Art was created by Carolyn Bennie - www.carolynbennie.com....

I love that Stampin Up demos share their FANTASTIC Creations.. So we can all look super talented and creative!!!
Here is a list of the products I used for these projects... if you don't have all of them you can always substitute... I did do a lot of prep for this class almost everything was cut out and ready for my customers as I knew it was an ADVANCED class... But it was so worth it.. Everyone went home feeling uplifted and feeling that they had made some BEAUTIFUL projects.. Money and time well spent.. for the day of FUN... Plus we supported a worthy cause and as always Satmpin' Up sported us with a FANTASTIC box of Product to raffle off...

We had 7 ladies attend and 4 who couldn't make the day and purchased the kits to take home.. So with our botique class we raised a total of $120... A fantastic effort...

Angel Baby Boxes

In 2008 one of the Paper Angel Team members wrote about a very personal tragedy that touched so many of our hearts... Around the time that the tragedy occurred we were looking for a cause that we could be passionate about... That we could... as "ANGELS" take a hold of and feel that we were able to make a real difference in others lives... To give back to the community and share what we love though Stampin' Up!.....

Here is an excerpt of a letter that was written to Stampin' Ups! Shelly Gardner in aid of nominating PA Team Leader for The Heart of Stampin' Up! Award... And the very reason why many felt Angel Baby Boxes would be so important...

'When a baby dies, a world is turned upside down. Before joining Stampin' Up!, my world had done exactly so. We had recently lost twin boys at birth and with that I had lost direction in life. But sitting at a fun workshop enjoying creativity that Liz had come to share with my friend and her guests, I felt happy. Liz beamed with love for what she was sharing with us, and her enthusiasm gave me the desire to do the same.
It was then that I became a member of Stampin' Up! [and the] Paper Angels.'
Leonie recounts, 'With a new career in the making, a new house [within] reach, and the wonderful news of a new baby on the way, I was again on that miraculous journey of life!
'Until the unexpected, when I found myself back in a world turned upside down with the early delivery and loss of our third baby boy.'
'When Liz called suggesting the Paper Angels would like to hold a fundraising event for the hospital where we had lost our babies in their honour, my heart was touched as it still is.'
Leonie wished her babies' footprints had been preserved and presented in a nicer way.
So that's where the team decided to start.
'The Paper Angels could provide The Mater Mother's Bereavement Support Program with the materials they would need to ensure footprints of those babies who don't make it home be made onto special footprint cards along with name plaques, to allow families to honour and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives,' shares Leonie.

The many branches of the Paper Angels team have been raising funds over the last 10 years in aid of these ANGEL BABY boxes... We may have started in the Marter Mothers Hospital in Brisbane but we are now proudly supplying several hospitals all over Queensland... and our team has inspired other Stampin Up teams to do the same in their States in Australia...

What are the "Angel Baby Boxes" you may ask... ??

They are two boxes that contain equipment and specially designed cards that the nursing staff will be able to create a beautiful and personal keep sake for the families of the Angel Babies...

The first box contains all that is needed to create name cards for both the angel babies as well as for babies in the special and intensive care areas. "Angel" team members and other volunteer helpers have made and assembled the decorative name cards and to finish them off  all the nursing staff need to do is use the alphabet stamps to stamp the babies name in Pigment ink and emboss it (in gold) onto the white strip which is then be adhered to the card.

The second box contains all the materials the nursing staff need to create footprint cards for the angel babies. For parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles who are unable to take their precious babies home. We have found that the footprints on the cards are very special as they are the actual imprint of a beautiful angel baby that was not for this world. These beautiful remembrance cards are and have been an integral part of the grieving and healing process for all involved - Including the nursing staff as they also grieve the loss of these precious little ones... And because of the lower cost in providing and sustaining the "stock" of them to each hospital...  the Nursing staff can make as many as wanted for each of the family members as we are able to provide sufficient for their needs.

As you can see and understand a little from this blog post.. It is EASY to be passionate about this cause... these name cards and footprint cards are only something small... yet they can mean the world to those who have lost, and are hurting...

It truly is an honor to be providing this service and support for the families and hospitals. And I am grateful for being part of a wonderful Angel team that saw a need and filled it... We are indeed blessed... Also I personally feel EXTREMELY blessed to be Members of a FANTASTIC company Stampin' Up!s  whos Statement of the Heart is:

To love what we do
and share what we love,
as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments . . .
in this we make a difference!

Well.... Look who's Happy Double Page Scrapbook Layout..

This was one of the most beautiful classes I have done in a while.. I love this double page spread...

Heaps of techniques used in this one.. we daubered, die cut, punch art, shadow stamped, random stamped, distressed and separated card stock, background stamped.. and ripped...

Ever wanted to make a darker card stock have lighter images on it??? Grab your White craft ink and allow to dry ... then grab the colour you want to stamp and stamp on top... this is shadow stamping... it's how we created the little navy background cards on the spread...  even if you do not stamp right on top it really doesn't matter...  Pollymer stamps are the best for this technique as you can line them up pretty well by eye balling the image... :P

The white flowers are made by ripping some card stock into 3 different sized circle-ish shapes. Then you scrunch them and use a brad to hole the 3 layers together.. Too easy...

The Indigo and Night of Navy flowers are distressed and pulled apart flowers.. We punched the flowers out 2x big, 2x medium adn 1 x small sizes... then used a bone folder like a peeler on each flower between your thumb and pointer finger.. to distress and break apart the fibers... once you can see the card is separating you can carefully pull apart the layers.. Stampin Up Card stock is GREAT for this technique as it is specially designed to do just that...  once they are all apart you can then hold them together with a brad... then you scrunch up each layer (one at a time) using your fingers very close to the brad base... until all layers are TOTALLY scrunched into what resembles a tight bud... Then you can go ahead a spread them out a little to make the flower BLOOM.. :)

The Well was stamped using the Wooden background stamp and cut 1cm strips... then daubered around each strip and stuck then onto a scrap staggering the height of each layer.. trimming off the bottom by hand and then making the belt around with the Lg Oval punch by snipping a chunk out of card stock then taking a further bit out... making the perfect barrel belt... using the stamp n write marker to add the little nail accents holding together the well...

One of the great things about this layout is you can put several photos on.. and the 2nd page could have either a panoramic pic on it or 3 of the same size across the middle and the little one on top..

My ladies really enjoyed this class.. and Loved learning how to make their own embellishments... one of the ladies wanted to put her baby announcement photos onto her page and so we changed the well into a baby's cradle.. with a little more punch art magic... (I wish I took a photo of it.. It turned out well.. )

Enjoy all your crafting..

My Happy Place Booklet - Angel Ave Class

I've always wanted and meant to do something that was just about me... so I designed this little booklet for a recent Angel Ave Class to be just that... About me.. (I mean about each class member individually.. cause who would want to write and keep a booklet about me?? chaaahhh... hehe) ... SO the idea behind this little booklet is to write about some of my
-favorite things..
-what makes me happy and smile...
-things I like to do..
-places I have been
-little interesting things about me...
-Perhaps things I may say
- Life moto or tagline....

To be quite honest I've never really been good at talking bout myself.. I hate the feeling of blowing my own trumpet.. Even though saying that you are good at something is not necessary "Blowing your own trumpet".. I think it may be a little bit of an Australian custom/thing... Like the Tall Poppy syndrome or something.. you know.. someone may say they seem "up themselves".. or like "they love themselves a little too much", if they do this kind of thing... But come on... just get over it already!!!  Your family and friends love to learn about you... and what really makes you tick.. and in a few decades this little booklet could be an inspiration and a treasure to your relative (children or Grandchildren)......

Now the question is WHERE TO START???? If you are like me and you struggle to do this kind of thing.. it is great to get some friends to help you get the ball rolling.. get them to tell you things they know and like about you... Things that they think you are good at... and if you want you could even get them to write the things down on little sticky notes that you could later transfer into your book... Family is also good to ask... cause even the little annoying things you say and do with and to your family  can be a treasured memory...  (one thing that comes to my mind when I remember my Mother is that she never let me go out without saying good bye and I love you... hugging and giving a kiss on the cheek... Even after we had had a huge argument about the cleanliness of my room... ;P .. I didn't really appreciate that when I was a teen.. but when she passed and now that I am raising teens it really is something I hold dear and treasure the memory of her persistence in showing and expressing love toward each other...... )

Anyway.. If you like me have wanted to do something like this make a start today.. Because it will be treasured!!!

Have Fun!!! xxoo

Birthday Ladybug Scrapping - Angel Ave Class

Birthday Ladybug Scrapbook page - Punch Art
Birthday Ladybug Scrapbook page 2 - Punch Art
How GORGEOUS are these pages?..

I found the inspiration and idea on Pintrest and then I created it with the die cuts and punches I own... I love Punch art.. and this page although it is simple and cute to look at.... well because there are so many bits and layers to each element it was a little complicated and it did take a little while... but the result is SOOOOOOOOOO worth it!!!

How could you not just want to smile when looking at your lovely memories on these pages!!!!

I loved the pages so much that I had to design a card for my Thursday Card Group.. So I could share the Love Bug with them.. :P
