Stamp Storage Cases

Did you know that you can use the Standard Stamp Cases (119105) as a gift box for a set of cards??
its a great idea to have your cards sorted into greetings.. Quick and easy premade cards... On the shelf for your convenience...

Rainbow greetings.... This is a fun Idea.. use a baby wipe as a custom coloured Ink pad.... simply drop re-inker drops onto it.. leaving a little space in between each colour to allow them not to get too muddy...  Then take a big solid word stamp and stamp onto the baby wipe - then stamp image onto your card stock allow it to sit just a little longer than you would normally.. just so the ink has a chance to soak into the card stock.

Music Notes - Stampin' Up Wheel

Recently I was commissioned to create some Thank you and Birthday cards for my Choir Conductor... Of course with a Music theme... I thought the Music Notes wheel would be PERFECT... Because the wheels are just so versatile... you can create your own backgrounds... you can punch out shapes and you can create almost anything you want to....

These first 4 are from the recent Stamp n Stack class I ran... (There is another one happening this Saturday evening if you would like to come.. Just let me know ASAP... as there are only a few places left.......) and of course you can substitute any of your Stampin Wheels to recreate this one.. It's nice and simple with just a hint of colour... and a length of ribbon...

This design was inspired by a picture I found on the internet... How beautiful are these double butterfly in DSP Stamped Card Stock and plain coloured card stock all mixed and mingled... ??? They are again simple in design.. although some what time consuming if you are mass producing them as you do have to run the little butterflies through the Big Shot with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die for each and every butterfly cut out... as you can only cut one layer of card or DSP at a time...
(Perhaps I may need to purchase another Embosslit??? Hummmmm... that is food for thought... or maybe if I chose to do this design again I can borrow some other Paper ANNGELS Embosslits too!!!)

And how cool are these Piano cards below??? Again inspired from a card I saw on the net.. as I have said many a time.. Google is my friend!!! All  I used here was the Word Window Punch and went to town punching my little heart out.. then I used our FANTASTIC new Big Shot Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets to stick all the white keys onto a line of black card stock and then used some dimentionals on the black Window Punches to give them some depth.... and Whalah.. you have a Pinao/Keyboard looking card...

I loved the design of the Butterfly cards so much that I changed it up just a little and made this one below for KNEG Card Craft Day this week... It's great to be able to cut out all the Butterflies with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Steal Rule Die...  and the Big Shot machine... Because you can cut at least 5 layers together.. I think I may have even pushed it to 8 layers... but only of the white card stock because it is a little thinner.. and perhaps I may have done 10 layers of the DSP... So mass producing 20 sets of these butterflies does not prove to be too much of a problem... and it is just a beautiful as the double butterflies....When you add a little Bling... heheh

Hope these cards inspire you and you can enjoy making some BEAUTIFUL cards too....

A Day in the Studio with a BIG SHOT

Now you all think I spent some time with someone STAR in a recording Studio don't you..???
Well I did.... (not a recording studio though... that was a slight fabrication.. hehe) I spent the day with Stampin' UP's New Big Shot.... I am fortunate enough to be able at times to borrow stuff from Liz.. She is a gem!!! And I borrowed it over last weekend.
Now in order to be time efficient and get the most out of it I had my family.. 2 boys 10 & 7 and my WONDERFUL hubbie working a sweat shop in the studio for a couple of hours... And surprisingly enough the boys were happy to help because they could play with something that I would normally not let them play with... EXPENSIVE CRAFT TOOLS!!!!! but let me tell you kids can do the BIG SHOT well!!! And it is very industrial.. they would have to throw it on the floor from quite a height to break it!!! So not only is is fun for Big people to use but the kids like it too and as it does not need loads of force to die cut or emboss little people can use it too!!!

I think we made up about 50 cards... These are ones I have taken photos of at this point... There is more to come so check back in a few days to see if I have added more to this slide show...

I am Loving the BIG SHOT!!! New punches and the Circle Scissor Plus!!! They are Definite must for all us mad Paper Crafters!!!

First Stamp n Stack Class

I am Loving the idea of these classes.. It is a wonderful way to make 8 cards... to mass produce the one you like to change it up and make 4 totally different ones...

[STAMP N STACK - this is where all the card stock is cut out EXACTLTY the same... and it is how you stamp and stack (layer) it that gives you the varied looks..]

Leonie is my inspiration for these because she does one each month.. She hires Angel Ave out and her classes are a great success!!!

I totally copied Leonie's design for these cards... They were lovely!!! And I thought they were good for a more masculine design... this one uses the Circle Circus (114375) stamp set to make all the background stamping... Then it used the Sincere Salutations stamp set (116416) & Life Definitions Stamp set (115928 ... which was almost half price in the Inventory Clearance Sale!!!)
Colour combo is... Card:- Ballet Blue, Chocolate Chip, Kraft... & a tiny bit of Confetti White.
Ink:-Ballet Blue, Chocolate Chip & Creamy Caramel.
Accessories:- Vintage Brads, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon

One Page Wonder Stamp n Stack Cards - Male
Then I came up with my own totally feminine design making them a One Page Wonder card design... It was a little more freelanced for my ladies.. they got to chose their own way to assemble and design their cards... by ripping and cutting the One (A4) Page of Stamped images.

PHOTO TO COME.....

I used Fifth Avenue Floral (115796), one stamp form Eastern Blooms (114275) and the small flower from Live Like You Mean It Hostess stamp set (115740 achieved when you have workshop orders totaling $300 RR product)
Colour combo is ... Card& Ink:- Old Olive, So Safron, Baja Breeze, Basic Grey and Regal Rose
Accessories:- 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon Kiwi Kiss, and So Saffron GG Ribbon.. (from special ribbon packs last year)

As some of my ladies were not able to come to the class in the morning I was able to take the class to them in the afternoon... If you would like to hold a class at your house please let me know.. Gather 4 or more friends and have a lovely social time making some beautiful things together.

Or see if there is another date available that suits you and 3 or more other friends and we can book it in at Angel Ave....

Next Stamp n stack class is Birthday Cards... Keep an eye out for it!!!

Creative Mediums that inspire me...

Last year I was nominated for an Australia Day Awards night...
Because of the nomination I was invited along with some guests to go to the dinner and awards night.. there must have been at least 200 people in attendance... It was a lovely night... The food was great the company grand and the decorations were very Australian... Lovely... There were 60 nominations in various categories....

I am very humbled and a little embarrassed to have been nominated.. but mostly grateful that I can do something to help out in some small way.. One never sets out to receive recognition for things you do... I heard this from almost all of the winners in each category of nominations on the night and it really does ring true for me!!! Most of what I do with the PaperANGELS, Community wise and with QPAC Choir is because I LOVE IT!!! Because it is an escape from the real world and lifts me up from the woes of life... It fills the well and allows me to be a better person so that I can give more of myself to my loved ones....

I was nominated for fundraising events with PaperANGELS for the Marter Mothers... and The Arty Farty Morning Tea Party.... The tour to Singapore with the Queensland Festival Chorus... and other things that I do at church or with the community relating to craft and sharing of the talents the Lord has blessed me with... Because of the influence and support of each one of the PaperANGELS Team I would not have been able to do half of the things I have over the last few years... I am grateful to all of them and mostly to Liz (who came with me on the night & didn't want photos of herself!!!)
And I am extremely grateful for my involvement with such a wonderful Choir... and a TOTALLY AMAZING Choir Conductor Alison Rogers... Music communicates when there is no words or when Language is a barrier... It touches the soul and enriches your life... It moves people in ways that words alone would never do... I believe that it is the language of the Angels!!! And I am ETERNALLY Grateful to have it in my life.. and to be exploring, learning and creating through this medium! What a blessing it has been to my family's life in 2009! I can only hope that it will continue to be such a huge part of our families life for years to come!!!

In recognition of our nomination all nominees received a framed certificate and had to do a walk on the stage.. which frightened the life out of me!!! Get me up there to sing or act.. no problem.. perhaps a few nerves... but it is not imposable.... but to stand and just be me... phew.. that is hard... especially when you feel that it's all a bit of a fuss... being recognised for the little something you were able to give back when so many wonderful people and organisations had given to you over the past few years... I was humbled and honored to be there.. And very grateful to have Liz there with me...

Some Recent Cards made

I made these cards before I left for the Queensland Festival Chorus tour to Singapore... To say thanks for all the hard work of those who made the whole WONDERFUL experience possible... The idea was that many people would have space sign.. I got some of the inspiration and ideas from 2009 Convention.. with the thump and bump Male card technique A Booklet Card made for Male Thank youand the 12x12 card style...12x12 Folded Square Thank you Card
12x12 Folded Square Thank you Card insideThe greatest thing about these cards is that you can take the ideas from your smaller cards you have made in the past and make them bigger.... then add more pages bound with ribbon or brads down the spine... most of these had room enough for 40 people write a personal message and sign them, as the were 6 x A5 double sided.... It looks really nice if you put some stamping on the inside pages too..Inside the Pages of Booklet Card
(This is actually the inside of another card I made for my dear friend Jenny Coggins who passed away tragically 6-12-09, leaving her 2 beautiful daughters... I was not able to go to the funeral.. because of our Singapore tour... but I was able to write letters to her Daughters, Mother, X Husband and make a card for all the women at church to sign if they wanted to... My little way of supporting and grieving with everyone else... RIP my Dear Dear friend.. Until we meet again!!! I know you will be working hard to help us all achieve our potential!!!)

Stampin on the inside also helps so that when you pull it apart, to have more than one person sign at a time... that they can all write on it the right way up and when it is time for you to reassemble it, it looks organised and uniformed ...Beautiful Shabby Chic Booklet CardStamping a matching envelope adds that extra special touch as well...

Things from Liz

Cute Choc BoxLiz made us these lovely little boxes with some chocolate bars wrapped in DSP for a Christmas gift.. It was lovely...

Then this one was a gift for the coordinators of the PaperANGELS Christmas Card workshops... It's a great idea for a gift to say thanks or a hosted booking award or intensive...
Bucket of Thanks GIft
And these were the last meeting for 2009 PaperANGELS training projects... I love the fact that in PaperANGELS we are so hands on!!! We receive so much inspiration at our meetings.. It's what drives us all to be better and gives us the ways and mean to know how to... Creative people are visual.. you can talk to them and give them instructions till the cows come home.. some will be ok with that and succeed.. but those of us who struggle to read instructions.. (ME).. It just makes it all more solid if you have had first hand experience.. especially if you have the chance to make mistakes that your customers may make... You look way more polished and professional!!! Trick of the trade... Practice b4 you do!!!Cards and Bon Bon Cracker

Stampin' UP! 2009 Regionals Card Pictures

QLD Stampin' UP! Regionals

We had Brisbane QLD Regional training in November.. It was yet again another great way to learn more Stampin' Up stuff... I love Training and conventions.. because it is a wonderful time to get together with other Crafty people and be inspired and taught!!!! Win Prizes and thank those who have made our Stampin' Up! time a AWESOME experience...Flowers For LizWe surprised Liz with a big arrangement of flowers to say thanks for all the PA activities meetings, fundraising and leadership for the year...

So Happy with her Flowers - Thank Liz
WE all thank you!!!

I arranged them for Liz the day before as we had a 8.30am start..... lucky I had a wedding that I was delivering into the city the day before cause it all tied in really nicely to drop Liz's' arrangement off so she had NO IDEA about it happening... hehehe.. Berry sneaky!!!

We all signed a card for Liz.. I made it with some wonderful inspiration from Leonie's little Angel punch art that won our last PaperANGELS Punch Art comp... thought it would be appropriate that it had 'Paper Angels' on the front of it.. Thanks Leonie!!!

Paper Angels Booklet Thank You cardThe ladies either side of me won free stamp sets.. Yeah... one of them is not 'yet' a demonstrator.. they were both heaps of fun to sit with... I was loud.. trying to get QLDers to be excited.. jump and shout and interact with the whole event.. with ohhhs and arrhhhs and clapping... it took ages to warm up the crowd but I did not give up!!!! heeheh...

A whole bunch of thanks

In November I was asked to make up some little thank you's for some women who presented some things to us at a Church activity.... I thought I would make some paper flowers.. As it was for Church i did not use Stampin' Up papers... and it made it sooooooo much harder!!! cause this cheep paper was no were near as good!!! it ripped while you were wrapping it around the stick and it was not double sided...Thanks a Bunch - Paper Flowers and Chocolate
But the flowers still looked good...

I didn't realise how long it would take me to make this whole bunch of flowers... Thank goodness i had some lovely ladies here for our monthly paper craft group that were happy to help with the last 5 or so!!! I was going cross eyed!!!

I put them on the skewers upside down so that the sharp end stuck out of the flower.. this makes it loads easier to stab the Ferrero Rochers to attach them as the center of the flower......
