Paper Angels Meeting - June & July 2012
The Hands on approach that we have at our Paper Angel Training meetings is wonderful!!!! I love that we always make lovely inspiring projects at every meeting... and I especially love that we are encouraged to bring show and tell... Our team are all so TALENTED!!!! Its a joy to go each month and mix with the Awesome bunch!!! Here's some of the cards we have created.... Card Classes
KENG Craft group love creating really different cards.. these are just some
of the fun cards we have made over the last few months...
The wooden sign post card on the right is the one that we did at KENG and the one on the right is what Michelle did with the card... When people take things home and put their own flair on it and make is so much better.. I just love it!!!!

The Little shopping bag one is quite cute and is a great way to use up little bits of left over DSP...
The Golf card is so cool for men!!!
The BEAUTIFUL cup cake stand is such a CUTE card!!! EVERYONE loves this one!!!
You can get a GREAT effect with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and your aqua pen... if you draw directly onto your card stock and then go over each colour individually you can make lovely rainbow!!!! Just like this card...
Shabby Chic is always a popular choice in card making... and using your collection of old buttons is a great way to decorate your cards!!!

Cards for the Birds
So have you noticed that for the last coupe of years BIRDS are quite the popular decoration.... ESPECIALLY owls...
This card is such a cute card!! It was inspired by someone's card on Stampin connection... Kim, one of our Paper Angels is AWESOME at finding fantastic cards on Stampin Connection (Exclusive to Stampin Up Demos around the world.. web site to share ideas, creations, Chat groups and get help) and when she shows us her discoveries on a Tuesday at Bayside craft group... well we just have to get her to send us the photos that she has taken so we can recreate them too!!!....
I love that you can change the owls expression with simply by putting the little white gel pen shine in different places....
Everyone loves this one...
Angry Birds are all the RAGE!!!! Bec showed us at a Paper Angels Training meeting.... this great card she had done at a workshop and I just had to go home and recreate it!!!! Some people are just so talented when they create punch art!!!!

Simply Cute Cards
How cute and easy is this card.... All you do is cut a strip of Card stock and punch out a shape multiple times stick some ribbon down the side stamp your greeting and whalah you are done in a mater of minutes... a cute card for any occasion....
This one here was made for Mothers day with my church group of 8 to 11 year old kids... they had heaps of fun creating this one... and it was an easy one to make too!!!
Bleaching Goodness!!!
Oh My GOODNESS... I LOVE LOVE LOVE BLEACHING!!!!!!!!!!!
Again one of the techniques from convention that was demonstrated to us... I just had to come home and try this one.... How much do I LOVE it... let me count the ways.... one millionty times ~~~~~
With this technique you can create any kind of backing paper you want..... so no more excuses for not begin able to get a backing page (DSP) to match your photos anymore!!!! It's AMAZING and SO ARTY!!! It gives you a real sense of satisfaction to see the pages come to life right before your eyes... and with the bleaching it is a little like magic!!!! Words just do not explain how exciting it all really is.. you will just have to try it yourself!!!!
The below is a picture of the page that I demoed at one of our meetings... if you would like to see the UTube video of our training click this link... (link to come)
Have a BLEACHING good time!!!

Big Shot Class
Convention is ALWAYS inspiring.. and although it may have been a few months ago I am still getting inspiration out of all the fantastic ideas we saw there.... I designed this class from a couple of the LOVELY projects that were presented to us by one of the demonstrator presenters....
There are so many ways you can use your Stampin Up tools and Big Shot dies!!!! Then only limits are your imagination and creativity!!!
By folding your card stock a little smaller than your dies cutting edges you can achieve a larger sized or a chain of the big shot die.... these 2 pages use the Scallop Square Bigz Clear (115950) and the Blossom Party Originals (115971)... You can have as much fun creating pages as we had on this trip to Scarborough (fair)....
Enjoy EXPERIMENTING!!!

We all Fall Down
I love the fact that in life we all fall down.. Nothing is perfect.. And the truth of the matter is... that is how we learn.... some may fall harder than others..... have you watched children playing lately????? What do they do when they fall down????? Yep that's right they get right back up again and keep on going... we sure can learn so much from them.... May we all face life's challenges with the youthful outlook... and get right back up again on our feet and keep trying....
These are some great random 'natural' photos I took on the way to the park and at the park one day with my boys and Liz's... My Boys had never roller bladed before.. and it was wonderful to watch them as they learned to (mess up...heheheh) master this new skill... what was so heart warming was the fact that the boys were all willing to lend a hand to each other when needed... and the 2 youngest at one stage shared one blade each.... doesn't it just melt your heart!!! What good boys!!!!
This page was inspired by one that we saw at this years Stampin' Up! convention... I've used the Top note die and folded the card stock in four so that there is a great photo mat under the photos... The Simply Scored has come in handy also for the fabulous box pleated DSP strip...
My lovely Sister and her Daughter are a couple of my favorite people.. although we do not get to spend a lot of time together they are always in my heart and mind.... and cause I have little boys... well the whole pretty flower thingy needs a little more feminine photos.. and one can only scrap so many of ones self!!! (especially when one is sooooooooooooo fussy about which photo one likes of ones self!!!) I am so glad that I do have some REALLY nice photos of them together from their interstate visits with us.... It may have taken me a couple of years to scrap these ones but I have finally done it!!!!
I took a whole 12 x 12" page of DSP and ripped a section out of it.... then rolled the edges of the ripped section over, glued it down to a full page of Whisper White 12x12 card stock and laced the top of it together with some lovely ribbon....
This STUNNING flower is one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITES!!!! It has been made with 3 punches, Card stock, Rhinestone Brad and a spritz bottle of water...
1. Simply punch out two of the Blossom punch (125603), three of the 5 Petal Flower (now retired :(...), and two of the middle sized flower in the Boho Blossoms punch (119858)....
2. Spritz them all with your water spritz... and then go to town scrunching them up like they are rubbish... I even roll them arround in my hands when they are in little balls....
3. Once they are mostly dry you can then layer them and pierce a hole in the middle of them then secure all layers with a brad...Continue to play with the shape and the scrunching of each petal a little to get the right look... Once it is dry you will find your flower will keep it's shape very nicely!!!
Enjoy Crafting!!!!

Attic Boutique Easter
I know this paper is a bit girly but how good does it look with this lovely photo of my son and a friend of his at the school Easter Bonnet Parade? It is so colourful and festive...
This design is a fantastic way to use up your scraps and left overs of DSP.. It is quite free in the design.. you just take some strips.. (same size or not) randomly stick them on and add some other bits and pieces...
This lovely medallion embellishment was made with the Simply Scored tool... by taking a strip of DSP you can score ever 1/4", then concertina it.. glue the ends together so it forms a cylinder and then flatten it out and glue a circle of card stock to keep it in the medallion shape.
It's so AWESOME when you create a page that just suits a photo you have wanted to scrap for YEARS!!!! I love it...

Attic Boutique & First Edition Specialty
Don't you just love the BIG SHOT!!! At my recent Big Shot scrapbboking class we created this lovely page... There is no limit to what you can do with the Big Shot!!! Especially when you can layer Card stock DSP and stamping.. You can create some absolutely GLORIOUS embellishments to you projects!!!
Using the Labels Collection Framelit dies I created some lovely Tags and Tabs for the sides of the photos and for the pocket and the journaling tag...
I loved the Scallop Trim Border withe the tiny pearls in-between each scallop... How cute and dainty is that??
Shabby Chic and Antique
At a recent Angle Ave Class I taught how to create this lovely Shabby Chic and Antique looking Scrapbooking page... It includes quite a lot of daubering, Punching and some faux metal tag technique...
This page will look great when I put some lovely black and white or sepia photos on it...
I gathered some lace ribbon to make the little cream flower...
To make the faux metal tags you emboss at least 3 layers of embossing powder and then stamp your VersaMark stamp image onto the HOT embossing.... It leaves a wonderful imprint in the embossing powder and whalah you have a fantastic faux metal embossed embellishment....
Have a Chic time!!!

Antique Embossing
Back in the day when we used to be able to kiss on the lips without thinking... ummm.. I may be sick.. (Hubbie has an Immune disease and gets germs and infections REALLY quickly)Arrrhhh they were the days!!! So young so in love and so much promise for the future... Isn't it wonderful how everything only gets better with age!!!??
I saw a lovely project at convention this year (2012) and it had an antique embossing look... So I went home and recreated the look with my own twist... of course...
I took a piece of Pool Party card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Labels Collection Framelits dies and then dry embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Folder...
Then I daubered gold ink or Versa Mark, making sure that I left a little bit of the blue showing through... then I embossed with gold embossing powder.. Then I made it a little more 'dirty' looking by daubering some Early Espresso ink on some places... Adding the glorious Antique Brad just finishes the antique look...
I cut some chip board out with my Simple Letters Alphabet dies and then Versa Marked them and gold embossed... then I took a flourish stamp and inked it up with Versa Mark and stamped on top of the gold embossed letter and then sprinkled black embossing powder on and heated...To do the strips I took Black card stock, dry embossed and then daubered gold ink and embossed with gold embossing powder...
I hope this gives you some ideas on how to make your projects look antique... It would be wonderful for your heritage photos...
Enjoy xxx

As I said in the last post....it’s that time of year when we are ushering out the old and welcoming in the new. August is the last month of the current Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue and also the LAST CHANCE to snap up retiring products (some of which are on sale) from the retired stamp & accessory list.
I was looking at the list.. and MAN it is rather long... Liz had this great idea of listing the top 7 products... so I thought I would copy her idea to help you wade through
the very long list by highlighting the top 7 bargains! If you
are interested in these, you will need to act QUICKLY as it is a first
in best dressed basis on retiring products in August and it will be no
surprise that the sale items often go first. I am placing an order
tonight (Friday) as well as next week a – the sooner your order comes to me, the better
your chance of securing your favourite retiring product (you know the
one you’ve been meaning to order but as yet haven’t) and/or a major
bargain.
‘Nursery Nest’ Designer Series Paper is
now 40% OFF and instead of the usual $18.95, you can now purchase as
many packets as you like for only $11.37. This is an awesome paper and
great for cardmaking and scrapbooking alike. This paper would make a
great gift for a papercrafter, someone having a baby, or dare I even say
it ‘wrapping paper’ for small gifts!
Can you believe this! 75% OFF these
Christmas Designer Fabric Packs! Each pack includes 3 beautifully
coordinated designs in an extra-wide fat quarter size, each piece being
approx 68.6 x 45.7. These packs are now ONLY $4.99. Seriously this has
to be the best bargain of all and I can see loads of applications, from
patchwork to gifting such as covering jar lids on home made Christmas
Treats! Really it’s only limited by your imagination and at this price
you can afford to stock up and maybe even include them as stocking
fillers in gifts for crafty friends!
Some demonstrators are expressing shock
that the Crop a Dile is being retired and I’m hearing them – I use this
tool all the time. I can only imagine that it is because eyelets are no
longer a current trend in papercrafting at present. However, this is a
tool well worth having for it’s magnificent ability to punch holes
through chipboard and multiple layers of cardstock with ease! But don’t
be sad it’s going, buy one NOW at 25% off Normally $54.95 this must have
tool is NOW ONLY $41.21
Don’t cry – this fabulous stamp cleaner
is not actually being retired, rather it is being reformatted into a
larger square version. I’m guessing this is to make cleaning the larger
background stamps easier. Having said that, this current model does the
job and if you don’t yet own one and would rather get a discount than
wait for the bigger version, now’s the time to buy one. Normally $28.95,
this essential tool is now 25% off and is NOW $21.71. What a great
present for a fellow stamper who doesn’t yet own one too!
Loving this ‘continuous’ border punch,
which stands alone, is great as a border tucked under another layer, or
also looks great with ribbon threaded through it. Unbelievably this
punch is 40% OFF and instead of the normal $38.95 NOW you can order for
$23.37!
Finally the Triple Layer ‘Blossom
Bouquet’ Punch is also 40% OFF and instead of $44.95 you’ll pay ONLY
$26.97! What a bargain when you consider that this punch actually
punches 4 different flowers which either stand alone or can be layered in different colours. Enjoy!
Don’t forget, these products plus the
rest of the retired list, is only available whilst stocks last. I cannot
order them once they have run out OR past the 31st August! Every year, I
get contacted after this date and asked if I can get something from the
previous catalogue – really this is true. Sadly I cannot help these
people and it makes me sad!
Please either email me... naturallyu01@hotmail.com or phone on 0410 602 916
